Wastoria Astoria Bali
Hilton’s flagship luxury brand, Waldorf Astoria, has announced the signing of its first property in Bali, slated to open in late 2027. Located on the cliffs of Nusa Dua, the resort will offer 71 private villas and 68 suites, combining elevated design with a strong focus on experiential travel.
Hilton’s announcement follows a series of new openings and signings across its luxury portfolio, with Waldorf Astoria Bali joining a pipeline of 34 properties in the region.
The group’s decision to expand into Bali aligns with the ever-growing demand for culturally rich and authentic travel experiences among travellers.
“Today’s luxury traveller is seeking more than just a beautiful stay – they’re seeking meaningful, immersive experiences rooted in culture and authenticity,” said Candice D’Cruz, vice president of Hilton Luxury Brands, Asia Pacific.
The resort will offer a mix of wellness journeys, local cultural encounters, and high-end dining. Culinary programming is a clear focal point, with the announcement of The Ledge by Dave Pynt as the signature restaurant – already available at Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi.
Pynt, best known for his open-fire cooking and Michelin-starred Burnt Ends in Singapore, will bring the same relaxed yet refined barbecue concept to Indonesia’s popular holiday isle.
“We’re really excited to bring our style of barbecue to the incredible cliffs of Nusa Dua,” said Pynt. “There’s so much to explore in the local produce and flavours, and when you add the magic of cooking over wood fire, it becomes something truly special.”
This culinary partnership builds on Waldorf Astoria’s reputation for working with celebrated chefs globally, including Clare Smyth and Daniel Boulud in London and Michael Anthony in New York.
Hilton’s broader expansion strategy includes plans to grow its luxury and lifestyle footprint across Asia Pacific to 150 hotels. Other upcoming Waldorf Astoria properties in the region include locations in Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo and Sydney, with the latter slated to open on Sydney Harbour in late-2025.
