London
Scoff, The Savoy
Scones have been scoffed at The Savoy for over a century, and now, the ritual has had a bold refresh with the launch of dedicated scone shop Scoff in November 2024.
Curated by executive pastry chef and ‘S-connoisseur’ Nicolas Houchet, Scoff scones are anything but traditional: generously filled and topped with unique flavours, including strawberries and cream, exotic punch, caramel popcorn, and tiramisu. Scoff scones can be purchased in beautiful boxes to take away or enjoyed as part of The Savoy’s classic afternoon tea service.
Scones are served fresh daily at 12:04pm, retailing at £8.50 per scone.
The Mayfair Bun, Brown’s Hotel
Step aside, Chelsea, there’s a new bun in town. Brown’s Hotel recently unveiled the Mayfair Bun – a modern take on Britain’s long-standing love affair, crafted in the heart of Mayfair.
Baked in beeswax, draped in honey, and dusted with floral bee pollen, the buns are sweet but subtle, as refined as their namesake and as playful as the city that surrounds them.
To honour Brown’s Hotel’s iconic address, only 33 buns will be available each day at 11am – each featuring 33 delicate layers of pastry in a nod to 33 Albemarle Street.
As timeless as Mayfair itself, this is not just another bun. It’s a moment of indulgence, a piece of history, and an invitation to experience tradition in a new way.
The Mayfair Bun is served fresh daily at 11am, retailing at £20 per bun with five per cent of all proceeds going to partner charity, Bees for Development.
