“We wanted to combine experiences for those who love culture, luxury, and fine dining, but also want to get out into nature and be active,” said Jonny Cooper, founder of Off the Map Travel.
“This type of trip is aimed at the modern traveller who wants it all. They might love the idea of a city break but also want to go hiking and see spectacular scenery. We’ve combined everything into this experience, making it a truly once-in-a-lifetime holiday.”
During two nights in the centre of Oslo, visitors will embark on a private guided bike tour exploring key city highlights like Akershus Fortress, the Royal Palace and the Munch Museum to immerse yourself in Edvard Munch’s iconic art before eating at one of Oslo’s many iconic restaurants serving world foods or local dishes like reindeer and fresh seafood from the harbour.
Oslo also has its own urban cheese factory, Winter Aker Brygge, which is popular with foodies and there is a bustling nightlife to explore.

On day three, guests will travel to the Lofoten Islands, a destination highlighted by National Geographic as one of the most appealing in the world.
Located just above the Arctic Circle, Lofoten is renowned for its towering peaks, crystal-clear fjords, and pristine beaches – bathed in the midnight sun during summer and illuminated by the magical Northern Lights from September to April.
Here, they’ll spend the rest of the trip hiking for panoramic views of the surrounding fjords and scenic beaches; taking in the stunning sea views while fishing; kayaking through crystal-clear waters, navigating hidden coves and enjoying the breathtaking coastal scenery; exploring Viking heritage through arts and crafts; taking a thrilling RIB boat through dramatic Norwegian fjords to witness Sea Eagles in their natural habitat and enjoying rejuvenating spa sessions, saunas and hot tubs throughout.
“There are so many different elements to this adventure that you don’t get to experience anywhere else in the world,” Cooper added: “The accommodation perfectly complements the experience with a focus on wellbeing and relaxation after lots of daytime outdoor activities.

“The guides are so knowledgeable that guests are sure to leave with a new understanding and appreciation of the magic of Norway, having made great memories and taken amazing photos to treasure.”
The eight-day, seven-night Self-drive and Sea Eagle Safari itinerary costs from £7560 per person, on a full board basis, based on two people travelling, not including flights.
This includes two nights’ hotel accommodation at Oslo Continental, three nights’ accommodation at Hattvika Lodge, two nights’ accommodation at Nyvaagar Rorbu Hotel, private transfers, all activities and all meals. Flights are additional.
